Raja Ampat Dive Lodge is located at the heart of the most spectacular diving in northern Raja Ampat. Mere minutes from the famous Manta aggregation sites and the fish-filled dives at the western edge of the Dampier Strait, our intimate lodge is the prefect place to experience the most bio-diverse reefs in the world. Fronted by a white sand beach and backed by the ever-verdant Papuan rainforest, the dive lodge is surrounded by natural beauty. Sit on your veranda and listen to the early morning sounds of the jungle as you prepare for another day of spectacular diving accompanied by our knowledgeable dive guides.

The duplex rooms at the Dive Lodge are comfortable ensuites furnished with either double or twin beds, tiled bathrooms and wooden interiors cooled by individual air conditioning units. In between dives you will feast on serve delicious, healthy meals utilizing the freshest local ingredients.

Currently, each bungalow will have a double bed and two twins. Plans include four more bungalows; two of the new bungalows will have a large double bed and larger bathroom. When completed, the resort will be able to accommodate 20 people.

Each bungalow is air-conditioned with ensuite facilities. Guests will receive a complimentary sarong with the resort logo.

The main lodge will include the dining room facilities and an area for relaxation that will include multi-format (PAL and NTSC) television and DVD sets, charging stations with protected electrical circuits for cameras and computers, and a boutique/drugstore. Wi-fi service is being planned.

A full line of Mares/Oceanic dive equipment (10 sets of BCDs, regulators, fins and masks) rental gear. Tanks and weights will be included in the dive package. At present , divers will only be able to get air fills, but plans are being made to offer Nitrox.

Three fiberglass speed boats with three 40 hp outboard engines and a sun awning will take divers (8 guests in each boat) to the Ampats world-class dive sites.

At the time of opening the Paradise Resort of the Raja Ampats will be just a land based operation. The future will include land and liveaboard dive packages aboard their fleet of well equipped Phinisi vessels. Lombok Tropic Holidays is able to put together special adventures to provide their guests with the widest range of dive experiences available in the Raja Ampat island complex of exceptional diving.

PT Komodo Dragon is an Italian company based in komodo, Indonesia and we have just opened a diving resort (padi dive resort) on Sebayur island, a desert island right in the heart of komodo archipelago.

Our resort is classified 3 stars and has all the facilities that a tourist or a diver may need. We have 10 luxury bungalows and plan to have another 6 bungalows on the beach facing sunset. Each unit is more than 40 square meters large and made with teak wook and marble and all the best imported materials.

We have hot water, air condition (deluxe only), fan, and large terrace on the beach in all the cottages. Raja Ampat Islands Located off the northwest tip of Bird’s Head Peninsula on the island of New Guinea, in Indonesia’s West Papua province, Raja Ampat, or the Four Kings, is an archipelago comprising over 1,500 small islands, cays and shoals surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo, and the smaller island of Kofiau. It encompasses more than 40,000 km² of land and sea, which also contains Cenderawasih Bay, the largest marine national park in Indonesia. It is a part of the newly named West Papua (province) of Indonesia which was formerly Irian Jaya. The islands are the most northern pieces of land in the Australian continent.

According to Conservation International, marine surveys suggest that the marine life diversity in the Raja Ampat area is the highest recorded on Earth. Diversity is considerably greater than any other area sampled in the Coral Triangle composed of Indonesia, Philippines and Papua New Guinea. The Coral Triangle is the heart of the world’s coral reef biodiversity, making Raja Ampat quite possibly the richest coral reef ecosystems in the world.

The area’s massive coral colonies along with relatively high sea surface temperatures, also suggest that its reefs may be relatively resistant to threats like coral bleaching and coral disease, which now jeopardize the survival of other coral ecosystems around the world. The Raja Ampat islands are remote and relatively undisturbed by humans.

The high marine diversity in Raja Ampat is strongly influenced by its position between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, as coral and fish larvae are more easily shared between the two oceans. Raja Ampat’s coral diversity, resilience, and role as a source for larval dispersal make it a global priority for marine protection.

Waiwo Dive Resort is brand new dive resort in Raja Ampat Islands, Its located on the best part of Waigeo island on Waiwo beach. It has 10 cottages with shower and also has its own DIVE CENTER.

The resort is in a lovely quiet cove with a nice beach. They have left the jungle canopy in place above the huts so it’s nice and cool during the day and AC isn’t needed at night. There were surprisingly few mosquitoes. Utilities are very basic – cold water only and the power only runs from around 5pm to 9am. The huts are very nice, clean and comfortable with typical basic ensuite bathrooms (a western toilet and bin for the paper).

Hotel Profile:
Café Garam, which means Salt Café, is part of Hotel Uyah Amed, which we have translated as Salt Lodge Amed. Garam is the Indonesian – and Uyah the Balinese word for salt.

Mid 2000 we were sitting in Amed and discussed the tremendous changes in the area due to the growing tourism. More and more salt production fields were left unused or sold by their owners to be used for bungalows etc. Since we did not like the idea that the traditional salt production would disappear in the near future we worked out our plan to preserve this tradition for the people of Amed as well as for interested foreigners. In order to combine the development of tourism with the traditional lifestyle we decided to build this hotel and café around the salt production fields and use the salt production as our motto. We strive to preserve the traditional salt production by promoting it as point of interest for foreign tourists and explain the production process. We produce the salt during dry season (when production is possible) and store it in our traditional bamboo hut “Gudang Garam”.

In order to contribute to a sustainable development in this beautiful part of Bali we are strongly committed to an environmentally friendly implementation of our services and strive for prevention of pollution.
Our Hotel is equipped with solar powered water heating systems, which use the mostly available sun and require no electrical energy.

Since most of our guest request air-conditioned accommodation we have equipped most of our bungalows with electrical air conditioners and selected low electricity consuming units for that purpose. We further have applied an air conditioning /cooling system based on the effect of evaporation for our non AC bungalows (No 2 – 7). Our system works best with a strong wind that we usually enjoy in Amed. For the convenience of our guest we additionally installed electrical ceiling fans to support the air ventilation.

We have implemented and maintain an environmental management system to reduce the consumption of natural resources and to prevent pollution by waste separation, composting, energy and water – saving installations and programs. We grow fruit and vegetables in our BIO garden. We try to communicate our environmental goals to the local community and our guest in order to be in harmony with this beautiful environment.

The bungalows are arranged in a V shape and are all equipped with private sea view terraces, Unique accessories add to your comfort and enjoyment,
Our guests may choose between six not electrically air conditioned bungalows, five with double beds and one twin,
ten electrically air conditioned bungalows, eight with double beds and two twin or our electrically air conditioned Villa.

Our family villa has one separate bedroom with a king size double bed and one living room with two single beds – up to two extra beds can be added on request.

The combination of Balinese tradition and modern interior design creates a comfortable and romantic atmosphere.

In our non AC bungalows we have applied an air conditioning /cooling system based on the effect of evaporation. Our system works best with a strong wind that we usually enjoy in Amed. The brain child of Meryl Wilson and Putu Febri, this lodge is already popular and is a stepping stone on the Trans Flores Safari to see the three crater lakes and unique birdlife of this park

Kelimutu Crater Lakes Eco Lodge is part of a small chain of Indonesian ‘eco’ lodges promoting sustainable community-based tourism and environmental best practices.

The lodge is sited on a stream facing rice terraces just outside of Moni. Although opened almost two months before my stay, the ten-room hotel was still not fully complete. There are five twin / double villas and five twin / double rooms above the restaurant.

Designed with an environmentally friendly concept just like it’s sister properties, for example the Bajo Eco Lodge, the Kelimutu Eco Lodge is located in Koanara Village, a riverside sanctuary designed with an open feel concept to bring you closer to its surrounding natural beauty. Koanara Village is part of Moni, a Sub-District in the Ende District.

Kelimutu Eco Lodge is the first establishment in Flores with a hybrid solar system; combining solar power with the available local electricity source to generate its power needed for the lodge operation. All water is re-cycled through 3 water-garden-systems to minimise pollution effects to the neighbouring river. The brown water is reused to irrigate the surrounding lush garden. Drinking water is processed with a U.V. purifier.

Advance booking is recommended as this is a uniquely styled petite lodge with only 10 rooms. Enjoy the spectacular view of the Kelimutu summit in the distance framed by the tree tops from your balcony. A stay here is definitely one of the many highlights of Flores.

Accommodation
Completed in July 2010 this Lodge is based on sustainable design principles. There are 10 light and airy Chalet style rooms with western/balinese style bathrooms. The restaurant serves a range of Indonesian, local and western style meals and beer and wine is available from the bar. Complimentary tea and coffee is available 24 hours. Perched above a river and enjoying spectacular views of Mt Kelimutu this highland, solar powered Lodge, provides a peaceful, cool and relaxing retreat.
Eco Credentials
This lodge is an eco lodge because we attempt to protect the environment by various means.

WATER all water is re cycled through 3 water –garden systems to prevent pollution of the river and to irrigate the garden.

The bathrooms are supplied with either solar hot water or gas water heaters, where it is too shaded for solar. Water is pumped from the river to a settling tank , then up the hill, by electricity.

Drinking water comes from a U.V. purifier.

POWER A first in Flores, we have a system of solar panels , storage batteries and inverters which blend solar power with the small amount of local electricity available. Please be careful!

REFUSE a major problem, we recyle, reuse and as a last resort send to Maumeres dump. Kitchen waste is composted or given to the pigs.
